Our community was greatly affected by the genocide and exposure to so many traumatic events that left so many children, women and men having to live with haunting memories and who have to find ways to cope with life and post genocide scars.

20 years ago this week, Rwandans who had long believed that God walked the world during the day and slept in Rwanda were left to deal with the worst possible evil when God presumably forgot about the tiny African country!! As we commemorate 20 years since the genocide I’ve found courage to share a little part of my journey during those days in 1994
